Terms of service

Who we are

Songbird makes personalised songs, pet tribute songs and children's bedtime stories, written from the words you give us and professionally produced. These terms apply whenever you place an order with us. By ordering, you agree to them.

Your order

Every Songbird product is bespoke: it is written and produced for one person, from the details you provide. Please check the details you give us carefully, as we write from exactly what you tell us. Prices are shown on each product page in pounds sterling and include everything: writing, production, one revision and delivery by email.

Payment is taken securely by Stripe at the time of ordering. We never see or store your card details.

Approvals and revisions

For songs and pet tributes, you will receive the lyrics by email to approve before we produce anything. Nothing is recorded until you are happy with every word. One revision is included with every order; if a detail is not right, tell us and we will put it right.

For bedtime stories, one revision and re-record is included after delivery.

Delivery

We deliver within 24 hours of your order (or, for songs and tributes, within 24 hours of your lyric approval) as a high-quality MP3 sent to the email address you give us, with a download link. If you told us the date of an occasion, we will prioritise your order so it arrives in good time.

Cancellations and refunds

Because every product is made to your specification, the usual 14-day cancellation right for online purchases does not apply to personalised goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You can cancel for a full refund at any point before we begin work. Once production has begun, we cannot offer a refund, but you approve the words first, a revision is included, and if we have genuinely missed the mark we will work with you to make it right.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Your words, your song

You must have the right to share the details you send us, and they must not be unlawful, hateful or infringe anyone else's rights. We may decline an order that asks us to produce such content, with a full refund.

Once delivered, your song or story is yours to keep, play and share for personal, non-commercial use, forever. We retain the underlying rights in the composition and recording, and we will never resell or reuse a song made from your story.

Liability

We are responsible for providing your order with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, and our total liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page at the time of your order applies to it.
